Hello Fairgrieve families!

Fairgrieve Families,

It is hard to believe that we have complete the first month of the new school year.  It was great see everyone at our Open House on September 30th.  We hope you were able to view a snippet of your child(ren)'s educational experience by visiting the classrooms and while touring the building.  As you can see the Fairgrieve School Community is fully committed to providing an exciting educational experience to all of our students each and everyday.  We can not thank you enough for your partnership as we continue to lay the groundwork for a fantastic school year that is full of learning, growth, and fun!

With this said, please note that after-school hours many students, families, and community members like to use FGE grounds to use the playgrounds, walk the track, and meet friends and family members.  Here at FGE, we love this!  However, recently there has been several public disturbances that are happening on school grounds, especially on the weekends.  I encourage you to have conversations with your child(ren) to remember to be aware that if they see something, say something to you.  I would hope anything that is questionable is reported to the local authorities and/or shared with me at your earliest convenience.

Character Trait focus for September: TEAMWORK

Throughout October we will focus on what it looks and sounds like to embody the traits of TEAMWORK.

TEAMWORK means working together with other students sharing ideas, helping each other, and reaching a shared goal that is too big to do alone.

SU's Otto's Fall Reading Kickoff 2026 - Football Tickets Continuing...

Participating educators and students are invited to the JMA Wireless Dome for the Syracuse Orange v. the SMU Mustangs football game on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The game time is not yet published but is typically determined and added to the online schedule, as well as sent to ticket holders, about 10 days before the game. We know that because the game is on Halloween, game time may determine whether students and their families are interested in attending. In the past, tickets have not sold out before the game time is announced and will be available to purchase (while supplies last) up until the day before the game, for those making last minute decisions.
Each participating student, teacher, and school staff member is eligible to claim one complimentary ticket to the game (thanks to our friends at Visions Federal Credit Union) with the purchase of at least one discounted ticket. As mentioned on the Reading Kickoff website, there are no minimums or set parameters for reading participation – educators and staff can set goals for their classroom or school, but every student who participated in any way is eligible to claim their free ticket!
Please send ticket instructions to participating students or their families/guardians, and other participating staff, so they can purchase tickets using their own email address.
Ticket Instructions:
  • You must purchase at least 1 discounted ticket to receive the complimentary student/educator ticket. There is only 1 complimentary ticket per order.
  • Use the exclusive Reading Kickoff ticket link: https://www.gofevo.com/event/visions2026
  • After selecting your seats, click the "Add Discount Code" button on the Order Summary page.
  • The promo code to claim a single complimentary ticket is: Visions26
  • If a family/group has multiple participating educators and/or students, or has trouble processing ticket orders, please have them contact athsales@syr.edu for assistance (be sure to mention it’s for Otto’s Reading Kickoff).
  • Tickets are available until October 30 or while supplies last.
  • All tickets for the Dome are now fully digital so no tickets will be sent via mail or available to print. You can learn more about mobile ticketing at https://cuse.com/feature/mobile_ticketing.
Please ONLY share this link and promo codes with participating educators, students, and families - do not share this information publicly.
Share Your Progress
We LOVE seeing students (and staff) reading, celebrating their accomplishments, decorating their schools, and showing off their Orange spirit!
In photos, please be sure you only include faces of students that would be okay for us to post/repost.

Parent Pick-Up: Important Safety Requests

We ask that you please adhere to the following safety requests:

  2. Utilize the Pick-Up Loop - Please ensure you are picking up your child in the safety loop. Children will not be escorted to the road or the parking lot.
We greatly appreciate your assistance with ensuring a SAFE & EFFICIENT system!

School Breakfast & Lunch

We will once again be providing Free school breakfast and lunch to all students!

Our monthly School Menus can be found on our School Website.
  • Go to the "Departments" tab and click on "School Nutrition". There you will find a link to menus. Please note menus are slightly different from K-8 and 9-12.

FGE Safety Drills for the 26/27 School Year

As part of our annual safety training required for all schools, we will continue with bus drills, fire drills and a lock-down drill in the first few weeks of school.

Practicing these procedures is essential to ensuring everyone knows what to do in a real emergency. Please speak with your child about the importance of these drills and help to alleviate any unnecessary worry. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for all students.
